🚀 Big Tech & Startup
The highly anticipated event of the year has arrived - Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference. And the big tech company has no doubt touched on the hot topic of VR!
One of the rumours circulating from the event is that Apple is set to release a new VR headset and tell the world why it thinks this tech is the future. Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, said the new headset "seamlessly blends the real world and the virtual world" but it also comes with a whopping price tag of £2,849.
So, why is it so pricey and how does it differ from current VR headsets already on the market? The headset is designed to be controlled by hand and eye motions as well as voice activation meaning there are no controllers involved.
visionOS features a three-dimensional interface that frees apps from the boundaries of a display so they can appear side by side at any scale. Apple Vision Pro enables users to be even more productive, with infinite screen real estate, access to their favourite apps, and all-new ways to multitask. And with support for Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad, users can set up the perfect workspace or bring the powerful capabilities of their Mac into Vision Pro wirelessly, creating an enormous, private, and portable 4K display with incredibly crisp text.
🔭 Science & Futuristic Tech
The Big Bang theory has always been a minefield of how the Universe came to be. Black holes weighing as much as thousands, millions or even billions of suns sit at the centre of nearly all known massive galaxies. Following many scientific studies, scientists have found that the Milky Way’s central black hole is slowly eating up the galaxy!
Observations seen in unusual black holes could provide us with untapped clues to the universe’s infancy and adolescence. “We can, weirdly, [learn about] the super-beginning of the universe by looking at things really close to us,” says theoretical astrophysicist Jillian Bellovary of Queensborough Community College in New York City.
But, the issue remains in the actions of the black holes and what they’re getting up to before being able to fully understand the evolution of the galaxy. 🪐
